good green jobs, and building a fairer future for all. (see greenparty.ca/en/our-plan)

I am running for the Green Party in order to inform people about things that the other parties are mistaken about. Three prominent questions I have are:
In March 2024, parliament voted to stop selling weapons to states committing genocide
in Palestine. Why are sales continuing through contract loopholes? What needs to
change?
(please see www.ploughshares.ca/publications/canada-under-contract-to-supply-the-idf-with-artillery-propellant)
Why are Canada's greenhouse gas emissions so much higher than the government's
own targets? What needs to change?
(please see www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/environmental-indicators/greenhouse-gas-emissions.html)
Why is the Canada Health Act not being used to strengthen the public health care
system across the country? What needs to change?

Biography
After a distinguished career in international ecological development and peacebuilding, I decided to run for the Green Party of Canada to put her skills to the service of social justice and intelligent ecological living. If elected, one of my priorities will be ending the local housing and employment crisis by getting new medium density energy plus truly affordable housing built.
Having studied Native Studies in the early 1980’s, I am aware that every time the land, the water or the air is polluted, that is a violation of Indigenous Peoples’ rights. I believe that people involved in government must act to support the Indigenous Peoples in their on-going care of the land.
I have a master’s degree in Rural Planning and Development. I am committed to being honest about the problems we face and to making co-operative decisions based on evidence, science, and best practises carefully and without delay.
Eldest daughter of a professor of agriculture and a food services technician, I might have been a farmer if things had worked out differently and can often be found in my garden. My son lives and works in the Carribean.
Reason for running
I am inspired by Elizabeth May and Jonathan Pedneault calling together for co-operation among the Federal parties to do things that will benefit all.
In particular, to implement the recommendations of the Foreign Interference Commission to better protect against foreign interference in Canada’s democratic institutions and processes. During this election, I pledge to personally co-operate with any inter-party cooperation agreements that Elizabeth and Jonathan may make. I also pledge to do my part by communicating in a trustworthy manner. No misinformation or disinformation will come from me.
I look forward to showing Scarborough-Woburn how the Green Party’s vision for healthy communities with clean air and water can make life affordable and enjoyable for everyone. This includes protecting against the devastation brought by climate change.
I join with Elizabeth and Jonathan in expressing my outrage “over a glaring loophole that allows lethal weapons to continue to flow from Canada to Israel despite the March 2024 parliamentary vote to halt such transfers.” Like them, I advocate that “All Palestinians and Israelis, and particularly the children of both nations, are entitled to safety and security. The prolonged Israeli occupation of Palestine—the longest in the modern world—must end completely and immediately, and Palestinian self-determination must be realized.”
I am 65 years old, a mother and a grandmother, and I have had a good life. Through my studies and experience in community and international development and as a teacher, I know that health and modest prosperity can be shared by all while averting climate catastrophe, and the Green Party is showing the way. Forward Together Now!
