We face many challenges, both here in Vancouver and as a nation. I am running for the Green Party because they offer real solutions and a fresh approach. I believe the voice of the people of Vancouver Centre will be best represented with a Green Party of Canada MP in Ottawa.
My home is in downtown Vancouver. The people I meet here every day are resilient and practical. They want a safe place to live, good health care for themselves and their neighbors, and an opportunity to make a good living. The Green Party has a perspective that offers pragmatic solutions for today and the best hope for a bright future for our youth. It is time for an economy that is strong and well-positioned to find opportunities in the coming transitions.
As a physician, I have worked in Atlantic Canada, the Far North, Toronto, and for the last twenty years, in downtown Vancouver. Growing up in Nova Scotia, I witnessed the environmental consequences of acid rain. Canada, alongside our neighbors, found a solution, and I saw maple trees and my uncle’s sugar bush thrive once again. Environmental problems can be solved.
During my career as a general practitioner, I have served in the Canadian Armed Forces, providing care to northern communities in Manitoba and Nunavut. Most recently, I have worked as a GP, helping people with mental illness and addressing the consequences of unregulated drug use. I have worked to reach people outside of care and to improve public safety.
The tools exist to make Vancouver a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive city. I hope to be the Green voice for Vancouver Centre in Ottawa, bringing your voice to the next Parliament.
