Biography

from their website

My name is Nicolle Carlin and I am running to be the MLA for the riding of Fredericton South-Silverwood. I moved to Fredericton when I was 18 years old to study Journalism at Saint Thomas University. At an early age I knew I wanted to give a voice to others, fight injustice, and instigate change.

Over the course of my career I worked for Global News, CTV Atlantic, and CBC. I was always honoured that others would trust me to tell their stories, sometimes in their most vulnerable moments. They often did so with the hopes that it would somehow lead to positive change for others. I took those stories and experiences with me when I entered politics.

In 2018 I joined Premier Higgs (then Leader of the Opposition) and worked on the provincial campaign doing communications from the tour bus. I then went to work in the Premier’s Office, first as Director of Communications, and later became Deputy Minister of Strategic Initiatives and Communication.

I have been a strong voice at the table for the past six years, and I am proud of my contributions to the betterment of our province, but going forward, when I raise my voice and push for change, I want to do it with a mandate and as the representative of the citizens of Fredericton South-Silverwood.

I look forward to meeting as many riding residents as possible. I have left my job in the Premier’s office to make this campaign and earning your trust and support my priority. I’m eager to hear your thoughts and views. I’m here for you!

I want to thank my friends and family for their love and encouragement to run, especially my husband Fenton and my three wonderful children.
