I'm running to tackle the rising cost of living and secure a better future for our community. We need bold action on affordable housing, fair trade, Donald Trump's threats and tariffs, and protecting our environment. I’m ready to go to Ottawa again to fight for Nanaimo–Ladysmith.
I’m running because people in Nanaimo–Ladysmith are feeling squeezed—from housing and rent to groceries and energy bills—and they deserve leadership that’s ready to act. As a former MP and current city councillor, I’ve fought effectively for our community: securing better trade protections, pushing for affordable housing, supporting people with disabilities, and defending old-growth forests.
Now, I’m ready to return to Ottawa with practical, forward-looking solutions. I’ll fight for major federal investment in co-op and non-market housing, tax fairness that lifts the burden off working Canadians, and strong trade policies that protect local jobs and supply chains—especially in the face of U.S. tariffs and Donald Trump’s threats against our sovereignty.
The Green Party’s plan includes eliminating federal tax on the first $40,000 of income, building strategic reserves of critical resources, and investing in clean energy and home retrofits—cutting costs while creating good local jobs and future-proofing our economy. We’ll also take real action on the climate crisis: ending fossil fuel subsidies, protecting biodiversity, and supporting a just transition that leaves no worker or community behind.
People want real leadership that understands our challenges and knows how to deliver. That’s exactly why I’m running: to secure stability, affordability, and a livable future for everyone in our community.
