Rachel’s career has bridged the university and the community.
Raised on a farm near Warman, Rachel has been a changemaker from a young age—building a solar oven from scratch at nine, organizing a music fundraiser for survivors of sexual violence at fourteen, and challenging church teachings on gender and sexuality by sixteen. She continues to embody that spirit of innovation as the Director of the Social Innovation Lab, a community-led research hub that mobilizes knowledge into action through partnerships with students, nonprofits, and grassroots organizers.
Rachel’s expertise spans nonprofit leadership, policy analysis, government relations, housing, and community services, and she has long collaborated between universities, governments, and community organizations, with a focus on justice, inclusion, and transformative change.
Rachel is deeply committed to affordable housing, accessible post-secondary education, and universal public services like dental care, pharmacare, and childcare. Her leadership is grounded in lived experience, collaboration, and a lifelong commitment to equity. A bridge-builder, systems-thinker, and relentless advocate, Rachel is working to ensure that Saskatoon West has a seat at the table.
