Vanessa Sharma – Fighting for Us All

Vanessa Sharma is a proud Fijian and Nepali Canadian, a daughter of the working class, and a tireless advocate for fairness, justice, and community. She’s the youngest Equity Vice-President with the Canadian Labour Congress, where she’s fought to make sure every voice—especially those too often silenced—is finally heard.

Vanessa has walked picket lines, led community movements, and challenged injustice at every level. From mental health advocacy to anti-racism work, she brings lived experience and relentless determination to every fight. She knows what it’s like to be counted out—but she also knows the strength it takes to rise again and demand better for everyone.

She believes politics isn’t about titles—it’s about service. About lifting each other up. About building something that lasts.

Reason for running

submitted by the candidate or their team
I’m running because I know what it’s like to be left out. I’ve faced debt, racism, and loss—but I turned pain into purpose. I’m fighting for a Canada where no one’s left behind. Not for power—for people. It’s time we lead with love, not fear. Let’s build together.

I believe in the power of ‘us.’ Together, we can build a Canada where your dreams aren’t held back by rent, your health includes mental health, and your voice truly matters in every decision. So to every student pulling an all‑nighter, every first‑time voter feeling unheard, I say this: show up. Register. Vote. Because change doesn’t happen from the top down—it happens when we, the next generation, decide that our future begins now. Yes, we can—and yes, we will.
